April comp lands impressive catches
CASTERTON Angling Society’s April Open Water Fishing comp was a great success, with lots of entries looking to win the two Engle fridges posted as prizes for the event!
CASTERTON Angling Society’s April Open Water Fishing comp was a great success, with lots of entries looking to win the two Engle fridges posted as prizes for the event! Around 30 junior and adult members headed to their favourite locations to wet a line, with a smorgasboard of catches presented for the weigh-in at the Angling Block.
Adult Winners
Ocean: 1st prize - Adam McKinnon with a 3.1kg Snapper
Inland: 1st prize - Morgan McNicol with a 7.9kg Cod
Children Winners
Ocean: 1st prize - Theo Naylor with a 0.713kg Salmon
Inland: 1st prize - Gus Simson with a 0.826kg Estuary Perch
2nd prize - Max Simson with an Estuary Perch
3rd prize - Harvey Robertson with an Estuary Perch
Raffle winners: 1st - Aussie Gill (cray cooker), 2nd - Cuzza (fishing rod)
The club thanked Spot on Fishing and Tackle, Mt Gambier, Compleat Angler Portland and Get Bent Baits, for their donations to the day, including new tackle boxes for all the kids who competed.
